This series of text-books is the outcome of some years’ experience in teaching Geography to pupils of all ages, the present volume on the British Isles being intended for students who are preparing to take the subject at some professional or University examination. The chief aim has been to present the matter in a readable form, and if students obtain a more intelligent interest in the subject through reading these pages, the book will have served its purpose.

The standard adopted in the questions set to test the knowledge of the student is that of the Board of Education, the various matriculation Examinations, and the Oxford and Cambridge Locals.
